A viral clip on social media shows Sumet Rungrattanaphan, a 28 year old Thai man who runs a gold shop in Pattaya, in Thailand’s Chonburi Province, who claims that, while driving in South Pattaya, he was involved in a collision with a car driven by Gerrard Collins, a 72 year old Australian. When Sumet approached, Collins allegedly took a one meter long machete type knife from the trunk of his car before attacking him, inflicting only minor injuries. Collins is also alleged to have damaged Sumet’s Honda car with the same knife before driving away.

Sumet and local police tracked Collins down to a local school, where he was picking up his daughter. Another argument ensued and Sumet punched Collins, knocking him out and causing his nose to bleed. After regaining consciousness, Collins claimed, following the collision, Sumet had approached him aggressively, leaving him no choice but to defend himself. Neither man has been charged pending an investigation.
