On November sixteenth reporters in Thailand’s Tak Province, which borders Myanmar, were informed of a train on fire in Mandalay. Myanmar firefighters were called to Mandalay’s main Railway Station to deal with a fire in the carriage of a passenger train entering the station. The fire had intensified and spread to two other carriages by the time they arrived. The fire service took several hours to extinguish the blaze in which nine burn injuries were reported, but no fatalities. Police are investigating the cause of the fire while intelligence officers suspect that it may have been an act of terror.
