After a clip of an apparently intoxicated on-duty police officer went viral on social media, Police Major General Paisan Luesomboon of Thailand’s Nongkai Province admitted that the drunken officer is under his command and is now standing guard for a month as a punishment. Paisarn said that, on October 28th, he called the police station but no one answered. When he arrived he found the drunken officer barely able to stand up and his blood alcohol was measured at 295 milligrams. Paisan said he recorded the video to show to his subordinates in order to prevent others doing the same. However, he denies posting the clip on social media.
