Only a day after reports of Thailand’s famous Huahin beaches being covered by tons of litter brought onshore by strong winds and sea currents, the 1,200 meter long white sandy beaches of Pranburi Forest Park, south of Huahin, are facing a similar problem. Park staff are collecting the estimated 100 tons of rubbish, most of which is organic with some dropped by careless people. Authorities believe that about half of the waste came with the swollen river waters released into the sea. It’s expected to take at least one week to clean up the beaches.
