Early on November the twenty fourth police were called to a fatal road incident on a highway in the Thai city of Singburi. A severely damaged passenger van was found in the middle of the road after crashing into a rice truck and catching fire. The bodies of the Thai van driver and his 13 passengers from Myanmar were so severely burnt that they were unrecognizable. Police said that the passenger van had been on a long journey from the border town of Mae Sod to Bangkok. The driver is thought to fallen asleep at the wheel after failing to take appropriate rest breaks.
